2-5-7-10 Box

Love this little box. It's made of one whole sheet of card stock.

1.  Score at 2", 5", 7" and 10" along the 11" inch side.  Here I used Pool Party and the Simply Scoring Board.

2.  Turn the card stock 90 degrees and score at 2" and 7".

3.  Stamp your box as desired.  Here, I used the I Heart Hearts stamp set and Pool Party Classic Ink.

4.  With the 2 inch section at the top, cut off all the squares but the second to last.  You should cut off only 3 squares and the small rectangle at the end.

5.   Cut all the smaller rectangles at the bottom just to the score line.  DO NOT CUT THEM OFF.

5.  Make a flap of the skinny rectangle at the end by cutting off little triangles from each side.

6.  Add Sticky Strip to the side and the bottom flaps.

7.  Fold your box together pinching in the sides.

8.  Decorate as desired.

SHHH...

Hi!

My eldest daughter loves to write.  She writes almost every day and she's getting quite good.  It's fun to watch her develop her skill. 

Most days she writes on the computer, but there are times when an idea strikes her when she's no where near one.  For those days, I made her this.

The ribbon is actually a bookmark that she can take on and off to mark her place in the book.  This was my first attempt at one and I love it.  I got the idea from the October Stampin' Success magazine, a magazine specifically for Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  

There are so many options for this bookmark, but as it was my first time, I wanted it to be on the simple side.  This is a mixture of retired and current product.  It so great to know that the Stampin' Up! product lines always go so well together.  I've had this paper for years and it still looks good!  My eldest LOVES polka dots so it was fun to find something she would like.

Maybe later, if there's enough interest, I'll make a video on how to make the bookmark.  Totally easy!

Here’s a GREEN Christmas Gift!

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.  Great motto, right?  Let's do some of that right now!

So, everyone I know has some sort of twine around their house.  And most people I know have washers either in their garage in a bucket or tin or in a drawer in their kitchen.  If you are ANY kind of crafter you also have paper scraps.  Lots of them.  Here's a gander at what my girls and I did with what we had at home.  

Aren't these washer necklaces so fun?  My girls and I made them for their friends.  My eldest made 18 of them!  She has a lot of friends!!  All the girls loved them and I can tell you, this is an EASY, PEASY gift!

1.  Take a 1" washer.

2.  Smear it with Crystal Effects.

3.  Punch out a 1/4" circle from scraps using the Crop-a-dile and THEN punch a 1" circle around it.  It's a lot easier to punch the middle out first before punching out the 1" circle.  Trust me.

4.  Put this punch out on the washer.  We actually did both sides.

5.  Let dry.  Add twine and/or ribbon.  

6.  Add beads.

Tip:  You might need to sand the edges, but that's pretty easy, too with our Sanding Blocks.

SO easy!  And, the sky is the limit as to how you decorate them.  You can use rub-ons, stickers, glitter, jewels, etc!  

This would be fun to do at birthday parties.  Hmmm.  I have one of those coming up.  I might have to do this!

Book Treats?

Do you like books?  I love them.  Do you devour them?  If you do, then this post is for you.

Okay, it's not your typical book, but so fun!

This little book has a surprise inside.

Let me tell you how easy this is to make.

1.  Make the box base using the Matchbox Bigz XL die for the Big Shot.

2.  Stamp a 5 1/2" x 3" piece of Old Olive with stamp set of choice.  (This one is RETIRED and I didn't know!  I'll post another one with a current stamp set soon.).

3.  Stamp a piece of Chocolate Chip 1 3/4" x 3"  with stamp set of choice in VersaMark.  Emboss with Crystal Clear Embossing Powder.

4. Sponge the Old Olive card stock with Chocolate Chip ink.

5.  Adhere 4" of your choice of ribbon (Oh dear.  This ribbon is retired, too.) to the inside of the "book cover".

6.  Adhere one side of the book cover to the underside of the box with Sticky Strip.

7.  Wrap nuggets with Chocolate Chip card stock measuring 1" x 3".

8.  Stamp Old Olive card stock measuring 3/4" x 3".  Wrap nuggets and put them in the box.

Very simple, very fun!

Are You Grateful?

I am part of a great organization called Moms in Touch International. My chapter meets every Monday to pray for the school our kids attend.  Every month we provide goodies for the teachers and staff at the school to show them how much we appreciate them.  Here's the little plaque to put up with our spread.  I might make one for every month, but haven't decided yet.

Tip: to figure out what color combo to use, I looked at a Designer Series Paper pack.

A Die to Die for...

Oh yeah!  The Petal Cone Bigz L Die (121810) is definitely a keeper. And once you buy it, you are only 17 measly dollars away from a FREE SALE-A-BRATION item. How cool is that?

This was another swap from the ladies at my upline's meeting and I was so excited to see it because the possibilities with this die are tremendous.

Don't you love the Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso and Whisper White color combination?  The Fun Flower Bigz L Die #(121812) is ANOTHER die I have seen as a FABULOUS  addition to ANYONE'S Big Shot Die Collection.  The Petite Petals Stampin' Around Jumbo Wheel adds a fun, whimsical touch in the background.  This fun project would make a fun Spring time, Mother's Day, or Easter Gift Box.  It would also make a great Wedding Favor or Party Favor.  You can fill it with candy, seed packets, small trinkets and baubles.

Have You Ever...

...stamped on tea lights?  Me neither, but I found a way to put stamped images ON tea lights.

This is a project kids at Pikes Peak Academy will do for their moms for Mother's Day.  Every month, Pikes Peak Academy has a Life Skills Day where the students get to participate in all kinds of activities from cooking to football, to crafting.  So, I'm going to help them make gifts for their moms!  

I'm using mostly retired products to make it cheaper for the kids.  The stamp set is a Level One Hostess Set.

No Candy Valentine!

Have you ever said, "Enough candy already!" whenever your kids come home from birthday parties, Halloween, Valentine's Day parties, even church!  Still, you don't want to be too Grinchy so here's a fun solution.  I saw this idea in Scrapbook's, etc. and loved it.  Stampin' Up!, the generous company that they are, sent all demonstrators a page of rub-ons from the new mini to play with in our free time.  Rub-ons are so easy to use that even a 3 year old can do it.  

Tip: To get a nice impression, I cut out the image from the sheet then rubbed for a bit with the popsicle stick provided and lifted the plastic sheet.  If a part didn't catch, no problem.  I put the sheet back down and rubbed that part.  Totally easy.

Punch two circles using the 3/16" side from the Crop-a-Dial in the Real Red card stock so that the pencil can go through it.  Don't worry, the 1 3/4" scallop circle will cover it up!  Using the color combo from the Love Impressions rub-on sheet made making this little valentine VERY easy.  

Go ahead, order what you need to make this non-candy treat!  Remember, Sale-a-bration starts tomorrow so you can get oh so many free things with your order of $50 or more!
