So, I bought the fun Flower Garden Textured Impressions Embossing Folder because it is so pretty. I LOVE dry embossing with my Big Shot.
1. Emboss 5 1/4” X 2” piece of Whisper White card stock by placing it in the Flower Garden Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and running it through the Big Shot.
2. Lightly run the Melon Mambo Classic pad over the raised parts of the image.
3. Punch a 5 1/2” X 1” piece of Melon Mambo card stock with a Double Scallop Ribbon Punch.
3. Adhere that to a 5 1/2” X 2 1/4” piece of Melon Mambo card stock.
4. Adhere the embossed Whisper White card stock onto the Melon Mambo card stock.
5. Stamp image from Flight of the Butterfly in Pretty in Pink Craft ink.
6. Emboss with Crystal Clear Embossing Powder.
7. Punch out image with Butterfly punch.
8. Adhere to Whisper White panel with a Dimensional.
9. Stamp Three Little Words sentiment on the side with Pretty in Pink. Stamp another sentiment of choice from the Three Little Words set on the inside of the card.

When you are scrapping, your ideas probably come from ALL over the place. The internet generates so many ideas, it is very hard to come up with original ideas, nor do you need to feel like you do. I rarely come up with my own ideas because I’m just not that creative. However, I do change things up here and there to make the projects my own. Scrapbooks, Etc., a fun scrapping magazine actually encourages its readers to scraplift their ideas. This layout is directly from them.
Yes, it’s another My Digital Studio creation. I love this software! I put the photoboxes in to match the layout in the magazine and then filled them in with my pictures. So fun, so easy. I love this Urban Oasis designer series paper. It worked really well for the subject matter.
Right now through the end of July, you can join my team for only $99. This Starter Kit is totally customizable. This is one Small Business Opportunity that is SO easy and and SO inexpensive. So, are you ever confused about color? Do you wonder what goes well together and why? Do you wonder why a green you would have hated and probably even did 10 years ago suddenly appeals to you now? Have you wondered why avocado green and mushroom were ever IN colors?
No? Then, you might as well stop reading. :)
If yes, then continue on, my friend.
Believe it or not, the fashion industry sets the color trends for everything else and I do mean EVERYTHING else. There is actually a group of 10 people whose names are kept secret that meets in Europe twice a year once in May and another in November to discuss the next color trend. Isn’t that crazy? Anyway, you’ll see the same colors all over the place perhaps within the year.
That was just an interesting tidbit. What I really want to tell you are the qualities of color. They are called: Hue, Value, Temperature and Saturation.
Hue is simply the name of the color...it’s identification. Red, yellow and blue come to mind.
Value is how light or dark a color is. So, adding white or black to a color will change its value. Further distinction is a shade which is adding black or gray and a tint which is adding white. Pink is a tint of red.
Temperature is how warm or cold a color is. Red is hot while blue is cold.
Saturation is the brightness or dullness of a color. It can also be called intensity.
How is this helpful? Great question. Pairing a color and bright color might not look so great to you and now you know why. For instance, the Regals Family has higher saturation. The color is intense. The Subtles Family has lower saturation because the color is lighter. Pairings between the two are often more difficult to make.
Here’s an example of the Stampin’ Up! 2011-2012 in storage: http://www6.homedepot.com/storagesolutions/index.html?&locStoreNum=1518&cm_sp=homepage-_-wk24-_-hero_2-_-shop_now
Isn’t that funny? I see Lucky Limeade, Pool Party and Wonder Wisteria.
I will discuss this more in other posts. Look for more on this next week. Hope this helps a little!

Have you ever been so excited about pictures that you wanted to scrap them immediately, but weren’t anywhere where it was possible? I no longer have that problem since buying My Digital Studio. I can scrap my pages IN THE CAR if I want! Of course, I am NOT driving, my dear, sweet husband is.
The layout was already in My Digital Studio. I only had to find the pictures! I added the Wild Wasabl Script Designer Paper as the background and the Label Punch so that my words would show up on the picture. Doesn’t it look like vellum? So easy to do in My Digital Studio. Just choose the color you like, fill in the punch and change the opacity to 50% or lower. My words weren’t showing up until I put the punch behind them.
Go ahead, get My Digital Studio and start scrapping. I’ll show you a fun hybrid page this week where I printed elements from My Digital studio and put them on a traditional page. Very fun!
So I’ve seen this FUN way to use the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch that I just had to share with you. This was actually one of July’s club project that I generally keep for only my club members, but this was too cute not to share. Plus, stamping will be at a minimum for me as I will be on vacation for most of the month. Sigh.
Have you seen this fun punch yet? Have you played with it? If not, come on over if you live in the Colorado Springs area! I’d love to let you play with it!
If you know me, you know I like to help you make the most of your purchases through me. I want to show you how to use a project as many ways as I can. While I wish I could take credit for coming up with this idea, you know that most of my ideas come from other demos which is why JOINING the Stampin’ Up! family is SUCH a great idea!
Isn’t this a fun card? I used the 1 3/8" and 1 1/4” square punches to punch out Early Espresso and Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper (DSP). Such fun paper! I used So Saffron, Early Espresso, Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Whisper White and Wild Wasabi as my color combo which I got directly from the fun DSP because I would have never in my wildest imagination come up with that on my own. It’s sort of crazy, isn’t it?
