Warm Wishes

These cute little paper bag cards have either a hot cocoa packet or apple cider packet in them.  We're giving them to ALL the teachers and staff at our school.  There are 109 of them!  Phew!  I'm in a group called Moms in Touch where moms from the school gather to pray for the school, the students, the staff and its teachers.  Our school has had a rough couple of years.  We had to move out of our first location because of mold problems and we were on 5 different campuses for 2 1/2 years.  My girls went to the same school but at different locations.  Some people drove their kids to THREE schools.  Oy!  We had to fund raise like crazy to get money for our new building.  But, we're in!

Then, this week our former PTO president died of cancer this week.  Her children are now orphans.  It's so hard.  Lastly, a family from our school lost his battle to cancer this week as well.  Our little community is so saddened.  Like I said, it's been a rough couple of years.  If you are a praying person, please pray for these families.  They need to be surrounded with lots of love.  

So, I saw this project on the demonstrator side of the Stampin' Up! website and knew that this could warm the hearts of the staff and teachers.  We want them to know we so appreciate them.

I made these cute little cards for a class I will be doing at the Pikes Peak Academy.  Every quarter they have Life Skills Classes that range from cooking, dodge ball to rubber stamping and computers.  I get lots of both genders because they like to make gifts for their parents.  We'll be making a giant nugget box where these cuties will nestle.  I'm going to give them strips of paper and let them go at it!  They're very creative and I'm honored to be with them.  I 'll show you their creations later.

Crystal Effects

I found this technique for letters in a magazine.  Cover your letters in Crystal Effects and let it dry.  That's it!  It gives a nice touch to the piece.  I wanted something simple and you can't beat this.  I used designer paper from the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit.  That keeps going and going and going.  I also cut up the Peace Love Joy Decorative Strip for the Big Shot.  Great way to make a whole bunch of cards.
