Stamps Country Living Summer Cookout Kit Confetti White card stock Ink Night of Navy Stampin' Spot (included in kit) Real Red Stampin' Spot (included in kit) Accessories Linen thread Silver brad Hole punch Decorative toothpick Wrapped moist towelette

Instructions

1. Fold coaster in half. Punch holes through right edge using hole punch.
2. Stamp checkered image in Real Red ink on top and bottom of Confetti White card stock. Stamp "Dig in" in Night of Navy ink in center of Confetti White card stock (1-5/8" x 1-5/8"). Punch one hole through top and two holes through left side. Thread toothpick through holes on left side. Adhere Confetti White card stock to towelette.
3. Stamp star image in Night of Navy ink on Confetti White card stock. Cut out. Attach silver brad to center. Adhere star over hole for toothpick.
4. Thread linen thread through holes in coaster and through hole in Confetti White card stock. Tie in bow.

Clean and Simple Design

Say Good Bye to Say It with Scallops

I made this cute set using a "One Sheet Wonder Pattern", I found on a website.  She took a 6X6 piece of designer paper and cut it so that she could make 4 cards.  I wonder where that site went?  Anyway, here's my version.  It's monochromatic, but I like it.  I used "Say It with Scallops" (111678, $17.95) because it fit so nicely with this layout.  On the first card, I added a bit of Crushed Curry (NEW In Color!) accents  to liven it up, but left the other cards with the Garden Green and Whisper White combo.

This stamp set is so worth getting because for every set sold, $2 goes toward the Ronald McDonald House Charities.  The Ronald McDonald House provides a place for families to stay while their children are in hospitals.  With the rising costs of health care, this free service is so needed.  Won't you consider getting this great set to support that cause?  This set will no longer be available after June 30th!

Flock Together!

I found this great layout on another site (wish I remembered which one) and wanted to copy it.  I changed the stamps and color combo to go with what I had, of course.  Sometimes, you see this great project and WISH that you had just that, don't you?  Well, I now have enough stuff that I am learning to make do with what I have and as I practice, it gets easier!  

Why don't you try it with this layout?  The dimensions of the card are as follows:  Strips are 1"X4", 1/2"X4", and 1 1/2"X4".  The main image can be whatever size you want.  I FINALLY got Fifth Avenue Floral!  I've been wanting it for a while.  Stampin' Up! is so generous with their demonstrators.  I got this set free through the Sale-a-bration promotion!  I think I'm going to have fun with it!

If you do try this layout, I'd love to see it!

Cute Big Shot Project

Stampin' Up! gives us soooo many great ideas so that we don't have to reinvent the wheel and a lot of these ideas come from the demonstrators who share with the Stampin' Up! family.  One of the demos did a great Big Shot class and shared a couple of the projects with us.  She made this GREAT flower pot that I copied, but modified.  I used the 2009-2010 In Colors just to play with them some more.  They have a nice mixture of bright and muted colors this year.  Here, I used Dusty Durango for the pot, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry for the flowers and Old Olive for the leaves and stems.  This was so easy to make.  My 8 year old daughter, Maria, made it with me.  It was fun girl time.  She would love, love, love it if you left a comment about her work!  I would love, love, love it, too! :)

Scrapbook Page Element Swap

Oh boy, am I having fun with the Bigz Beautiful Butterfly Die for the Big Shot and God's Beauty.  I made this for my Scrapbook Page Element Swap.  I love how it turned out.  I used the smallest butterfly on the die with So Saffron card stock and stamped it with the butterfly image from God's Beauty in Riding Hood Red Ink.  It gave the butterflies some fun designs.  When I actually use this page, I might cut more butterflies out of Riding Red card stock.  We'll see.  If you look closely, you can see I used the Depth of Field technique for the side bar.  

Supplies: Riding Hood Red ink and card stock, So Saffron ink and card stock, Candy Cane Lane DSP, Whisper White card stock, God's Beauty Stamp Set, Bigz Beautiful Butterfly Die.

Just Playin'

Background stamps are so much fun for me.  I saw this technique and wanted to try it right away.  I used the Pretty Petals background stamp.  I think it works better with bolder stamps so when the new catalog goes live, I already know which one I'll get to do this technique with.  Anyway, I used colors from the Soft Subtle Color Family.  Then I used Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue and Mellow Moss Grosgrain Ribbon.  I think I might take a second stab at this card.  I have some ideas floating around in my head as I'm looking at it.  I find that stepping away from projects sometimes gives my creative juices time to start flowing again. Maybe I'll mount each panel on it's coordinating card stock.  Hmmm.  If I do it and I like it, I'll show it to you.

Depth of Field

I'm sad that "God's Beauty" is going away now that I've discovered it.  The butterfly is really quite beautiful.  Supplies: Riding Hood Red ink, card stock and and ribbon.  Barely Banana ink and card stock, Going Gray ink, Basic Gray ink, Whisper White card stock.

Riding Hood Red is really a beautiful color.  However, having had a chance to see the 2009-2010 In Colors in person, I'm really enjoying them.  

I used this technique to make a Scrapbook Element Swap.  I'll show that to you soon.  If you need to order any of the retiring In Colors you better do it RIGHT NOW because they are almost all out!
