I had this idea floating around in my head. It didn't turn out quite like I thought, but I still like it. I made card using the Scallop Circle Die for the Big Shot. Just make a regular card base (4 1/4" by 5 1/2") Then put the fold side on the Scallop Die, missing about 3 of the scallops. You'll get a Scalloped Card.
I took 3 3"X6" pieces of the Flock Together DSP and tore strips. You know, I always hate making the first cut on our beautiful DSP. What if I use it all up? Gasp! Must stop hoarding. Must stop hoarding. Then I wove them together and stuck them onto a scrap piece of paper. Make sure you stick them down well because you don't want them to get stuck on the Circle Scissor. I cut a 3 3/4" circle from this. This wasn't hard, just a little time consuming because I had to make sure that every little bit was stuck down!
Making rings with our Circle Scissor is SO easy! I want EASY to be a way of life for me in my rubber stamping world. First, cut the smaller circle. Here, I cut a 3 1/2" circle. LEAVE THE PAPER ALONE! Just move the dial to make your bigger circle. Here, I cut a 3 3/4" circle and voila, I have my ring!
I adhered the woven piece first and then the So Saffron ring on top. Here's a close-up:
I've been making some projects with Flight of the Butterfly because Stampin' Up! has a monthly contest for demonstrators and one of this month's is Having Fun with Butterflies. If your project is chosen, then you get to pick 3 FREE stamp sets. Oh yeah, baby, I want to win some of those!
I'm not a very creative person, as I have said many times before now. I mostly copy, but add some of my own touches. This card was completely original. I'm not sure if I'll turn this one in, but we'll see. Let me know if you like it!
There is only 1 day left to take advantage of the Buy 3 Get 1 Free Designer Paper and Textured card stock. Now is a good time to get any of the DSP with the 08-09 In Colors because they will be gone come June 30th and probably even before. If you want the In Colors, NOW is the time to get them because they WILL be gone.
Happy Stampin',
Linda:)
